Roy Wood Jr.'s thought-provoking comedy crosses cultural lines to entertain his audience. Wood has appeared on TBS' "Sullivan & Son." Tickets are $25 with the purchase of two food or drink items.

B.L.U.E.S. Jam at Chicago B.L.U.E.S. Bar, 2519 N. Halsted St., 9:30 p.m.

The B.L.U.E.S. Jam hosted by Big Ray and Chicago's Most Wanted happens Wednesday night. Doors open at 8 p.m. Drink specials include $2 Cuervo shots.

Plants in Pencils at Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum, 2430 N. Cannon Drive, 6-9 p.m.

Head to the Nature Museum for a class in illustration with a graphite pencil. The class will discuss materials and techniques while introducing you to new specimens weekly. The class costs $30.
