KENWOOD — Three King College Prep High School students were treated at a local hospital after an irritant was discharged Wednesday morning, police said.

The incident occurred at 11:45 a.m. in the 4400 block of South Drexel Boulevard, said Officer Veejay Zala, a Chicago police spokesman.

The three students were transported to a local hospital after inhaling an irritant that was discharged in a locker room, Zala said.

The area where the irritant was dispersed was contained and no evacuation was required, Zala said.
