Turkey Chop Plans Free Thanksgiving Meal for Needy

HUMBOLDT PARK — Turkey Chop will host a free Thanksgiving meal for the poor and homeless.

The meal is scheduled for 1-3 p.m. Nov. 27 at the Humboldt Park restaurant, 3506 W. Chicago Ave. Dinner will include turkey, chicken, traditional Thanksgiving sides and pumpkin pie.

Community members interested in donating or volunteering can contact Megan Hinchy at 773-342-0036 or megan@whpdevelopmentcouncil.net.

The West Humboldt Park Development Council will also be sponsoring a free meal at the restaurant from 1-3 p.m. Monday.

Turkey Chop's Thanksgiving meal is sponsored by The Salvation Army, Our Lady of Angels, the development council and Ald. Walter Burnett (27th).

The restaurant, owned by Quentin Love, served its first Thanksgiving meal to area residents last year after opening in February 2013.
