Radio Extra: West Loop Groups Opposing Apartment Tower Near Park

WEST LOOP — As new buildings continue to sprout up in the West Loop, two neighborhood groups are voicing their concerns about a proposed 13-story apartment building. 

Wicker Park-based LG Development wants to develop the building at 111 S. Peoria St. on a site that now houses a parking lot, across from Mary Bartelme Park. 

Neighbors of the West Loop plan to send Ald. Walter Burnett Jr. (27th) a letter stating their objection to a plan that would see 205 apartment units built on the site. The West Loop Residents Association also opposes the plan.
