CHICAGO — One man was killed and two others, including a 13-year-old boy, were injured in separate shootings Wednesday evening.

Around 5:05 p.m. Wednesday, a 30-year-old man was fatally shot in West Garfield Park.

• In the most recent shooting, a 36-year-old woman was shot and injured on the Southeast Side in Golden Gate.

Around 9:10 p.m., the woman was walking on the sidewalk in the 13200 block of South Vernon Avenue when she heard shots and felt pain, according to Officer Janel Sedevic, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

She sustained gunshot wounds in her chest and right arm, Sedevic said. But her wounds were "through and through," which means it looks like there are two holes, but only one bullet passed through, according to Sedevic.

She was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in stable condition, she added.

No one is in custody, and detectives are investigating.

• About two hours earlier, a 13-year-old boy was shot in Grand Crossing.

Around 7 p.m., the boy was standing on the sidewalk in the 1500 block of East 69th Street when a man came up to him and opened fire, striking him in both of his legs, Sedevic said.

The shooter then ran off

Police said the shooter is not in custody.

The boy was transported to Comer Children's Hospital where he is in stable condition, Sedevic said.
