GOLD COAST — In the early 1890's, then-draftsman Frank Lloyd Wright was hard at work in the Gold Coast neighborhood.
120 years later, Friends of the Society of Architectural Historians are hard at work to save one of his many legacies.
The historic Charnley-Persky house was designed in 1891-1892 by Louis Sullivan and Wright for James Charnley, a lumber baron who was the son-in-law of the president of the Illinois Central Railroad. In August, the home suffered severe damage from flooding.
