CHICAGO — Roosevelt High School students are teaming up with a community group to beautify for Saturday's Clean & Green event.

Volunteers are gathering at the Kimball Brown Line station at 1 p.m. for a three-hour session that will focus on picking up litter and filing issues to the city's 311 system as well as the alderman's office, said Shylo Bisnett, an organizer with the Albany Park Neighbors group.

The effort will focus on Lawrence Avenue between Pulaski Road and Kimball Avenue.

Additionally, arts organization Accion Poetica Chicago will be participating by chalking poetry and other inspirational quotes around the neighborhood.

Though the neighborhood organization will have some supplies on hand, Bisnett said volunteers should bring gloves, bags and rakes to the event.
