CHICAGO — A 28-year-old man was shot during a robbery in West Town early Monday, police said.

Around 12:09 a.m., the man was sitting in his parked white car in a parking lot in the 1200 block of West Randolph Street when another white car approached, said Officer Ana Pacheco, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

A man emerged from the arriving car and tried to rob the man in the parked car, Pacheco said.

The 28-year-old man drove away, but was shot in the arm and chest. The man made it to the 700 block of West Randolph Street before crashing into a median, Pacheco said.

The man was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition, Pacheco said.
