UPTOWN— The popular Vietnamese restaurant Tank Noodle reopened Friday afternoon after fixing three "critical" health code violations, a restaurant manager told DNAinfo Chicago Monday.

"Everything is fixed, and that's why we could reopen," said Ly Nguyen, a Tank Noodle manager.

Nguyen said management was aware there was a problem with a sewage pipe on Tuesday, the day a city inspector filed a report citing the problems.

Nguyen said within a half-hour of noticing the problem, they put a sign on the door letting customers know the restaurant would be temporarily closed. Some customers already were in the restaurant, and they were allowed to finish their meal, Nguyen said.

In addition to an "inadequate waste-water disposal" violation, the inspector found more than 50 live fruit flies in the front prep area and in a customer bathroom, called a "serious" violation. Nguyen said they "called the pest patrol" to fix that problem.

Cristina Villarreal, of the city's Department of Public Health, said Tank Noodle would be able to reopen once it made all corrections to critical violations.
