COOK COUNTY CRIMINAL COURTHOUSE — A man accused of mugging two people in Bucktown and Wicker Park has been charged with stealing a chef's knives and thermometer, among other things, prosecutors said.

Josh Sulls, 19, and at least one unnamed accomplice, robbed a man and woman walking home at night in the 2000 block of North Winchester Boulevard on Aug. 31, prosecutors said.

One of them touched the man's arm and asked about his tattoos, prosecutors said. When the man pulled his arm away, the alleged robbers, acting as though he was armed, demanded they hand over their possessions.

The man handed over $40, a cellphone and his wallet. The woman, a chef, lost a set of cooking knives and a thermometer, prosecutors said.

The following day, on Sept. 1, Sulls and his accomplice pulled a gun on a couple in the 1300 block of North Hoyne Street, prosecutors said. In that instance, the robbers got away with a credit card, cash and a cellphone, according to a police report.

Sulls, of the 4200 block of South Archer Avenue, appeared in court for a brief bond hearing Friday to face charges of armed robbery and aggravated robbery. His co-defendant, who was not identified Friday, was previously charged, prosecutors said.

A Cook County judge ordered Sulls held on $250,000 bail.
