CHICAGO — Four teams are one step closer to winning a cash prize that might help them become the next big startup.
After competing against 31 teams Wednesday at the Chicago Cup Challenge, four startup teams representing four categories, including health, education, smart cities and energy, are advancing to the national Challenge Cup finals.
The winners include Packback, a pay-per-use college textbook service; SmarterShade, a service that allows users to darken rooms on command; ReliefWatch, a tool used to better track diseases in other countries; and Guard Llama, a handheld remote and application that allows users to discretely send out their exact location to police.
The teams will get free travel and a week stay in Washington, D.C. in May to compete for the national title against competitors from all around the globe.
