CHICAGO — A four-bedroom home designed by award-winning architect Ken Schroeder is on the market in Lincoln Park for $2.6 million.

The home at 610 W. Belden Ave. is "for the buyer who appreciates beautiful design and tasteful originality," according to Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices' Joanne Nemerovski.

Schroeder designed the interior of the home, including the additions, to have a classical-meets-modern design by using light wood and contrasting Victorian and modern elements, according to Nemerovski.

And there are built-in bookshelves and tall ceilings throughout.

In the living room, there is a three-story atrium with a fir-clad ceiling 35 feet above it.

Arguably the most unusual element of the home, Nemerovski said, is a three-story conical structure inspired by the Swiss-French architect Le Corbusier above the breakfast room, which is topped with a skylight.

The home has 5½ bathrooms and sits on an oversized lot, according to Nemerovski.

It is in the Lincoln school district and close to "great" schools like Little GEMS International and Francis W. Parker School, as well as neighborhood attractions like Lincoln Park Zoo and Notebaert Nature Museum, "first-rate" theaters, restaurants and shops.

A two-car garage is attached plus there is additional private, secure parking on a "beautiful" cobblestone drive.
