CHICAGO — A Lincoln Park mansion previously owned by former Indy 500 winner Bobby Rahal hit the market for $3.5 million.

Rahal, who won the title in 1986, bought 1903 N. Howe St. in 2010, said Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices KoenigRubloff's Jennifer Mills.

"He will be leaving behind the upgrades and decorating he invested into the property," Mills said.

The home has a number of unique features such as a glassed-in rooftop conservatory, 11½-foot ceilings with custom designed accents, a blue stone patio and a 17th century stone fireplace in the living room, according to Mills.

In addition to five bedrooms, the home, which was built in 2003, has 4½ bathrooms and a custom-designed kitchen with a limestone hood and top-of-the-line appliances, according to Mills.

Rahal enlisted design company Cannon Frank to upgrade the home.

The renovations included new motorized shades and Thermopane glass in the conservatory, a raw silk wall covering in the master bedroom and a $150,000 Crestron SmartHome system to control sound, lights, heat, security and commercial Wi-Fi, among many other things.

The home also has a heated two-car garage.
