LAKEVIEW — Lakeview loves Halloween.

From pet parades and costume contests to trick-or-treating and cocktail specials, there are more than a dozen events lined up over the next two weeks. We've rounded up some of our favorites:

Family Fun:

Trick or Treat on Southport returns this Sunday from 1-4 p.m. Kids take over the street with storefront trick-or-treating, family-friendly photo booths and outdoor games. The fun runs from Belmont Avenue to Irving Park Road.

• If you haven't carved pumpkins yet, swing by Hamilton Elementary, 1650 W. Cornelia Ave., for the school's pumpkin patch. Pumpkins range from $5 to $10, and families will find carving stations, art projects and a haunted house. Saturday, 2-4 p.m.

• The Halloween Hoopla brings hay rides, face painting and crafts to The Nettelhorst School, 3252 N. Broadway. From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. this Saturday, kids can play in the school's lot. Trick-or-treating at local businesses follows.

Food and Booze:

• Southport & Irving is hosting a Speakeasy Halloween on Oct. 31. Don your finest Roaring 20s attire, sip Prohibition-era cocktails and listen to live jazz from 8-11 p.m. The night's top three Instagram costume photos (tagged @southportandirving) win prizes.

• Food trucks and a pig roast — need we say more? The Haunted Island at Treasure Island, 3640 N. Broadway, features trucks from La Cocinita, Bridgeport Pasty and Chicago Cupcake. There's a pig roast, costume contest and "Shock Treatment" screening. Oct. 31, 4-11 p.m.

• Falafill, 3202 N. Broadway, is giving away free "BOOklava" (baklava) from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Oct. 31. The traditional pastry is made with filo dough, nuts and honey. Kids and 12 and under get it free; adults get it free with a purchase.

Costumes, Pets and More

• If you like dressing up your dog, bring him to the Howl'oween Muttsquerade this Saturday. Doors open at Dog-a-holics Daycare, 3608 N. Southport Ave., at 11 a.m. for samples and playtime. A costume contest, pet parade and raffle kick off at noon.

• If you like dressing up yourself, swing by Newport Bar and Grill, 1344 W. Newport Ave., at 9 p.m. on Oct. 31. There's drink specials, a live DJ and $700 in costume prizes ($200 for best individual, $500 for best group). The bar's also hosting a "Halloween Walk of Shame" the next morning. Wear your costume, get 20 percent off.

• It wouldn't be Halloween without "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." The Music Box Theatre, 3733 N. Southport Ave., is screening the cult classic from Oct. 24 to Nov. 1. If horror is more your speed, there's also "Halloween" screenings this Friday and Saturday.
