BRIDGEPORT — The weekend is just about here and the neighborhood schedule is jam-packed with a wide variety of happenings to satisfy your cultural curiosity.

Or as Janet Scanlon, co-owner of Hardscrabble Gifts, the boutique gift shop that's helping host Saturday's Pop 33 Art Fair, put it: "You could spend all day in Bridgeport."

Here's a look at what's happening:

Third Friday at Bridgeport Art Center: The monthly "Third Friday" gathering invites curiosity-seekers to explore the nooks and crannies of the building at 1200 W. W. 35th St. and chat with its many artistic denizens, including Master woodworker Gary "Hal" Link, who will share secrets of the craft in a pair of weekend workshops. Third Friday takes place from 6-10 p.m. Friday. Free.

Third Friday at Zhou B Art Center: The world famous Zhou brothers are celebrating the 10-year anniversary of their warehouse-turned-art center at 1029 W. 35th St. with a "Third Friday" event that includes the public debut of their newest exhibit, "Feeling is Liberty," along with a new show, "Centerline: TEN" featuring the works of all the center's artists. Free.

Pop 33 Art Fair: Vendors of arts and crafts and food and drink will take over a parking lot in the 3300 block of South Halsted Street on Saturday for this first-of-its kind event, which also features a number of sales and specials and local businesses. More here.

Bridged Art Walk: Part of Chicago Artists Month, the Bridged Art Walk takes place Saturday and Sunday at various venues on Morgan Street. The weekend event will include new art installations at unlikely venues, restaurant specials, kids activities and raffles of original art work. More here.

Pumpkin Patch at Armour Square Park: Featuring pumpkin picking and painting, Halloween-themed carnival games, a petting zoo, inflatable bounce houses, a costume contest, music and food, the event takes place 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Saturday at the park, 3309 S. Shields Ave. Admission is $10 per person.

Open House: Organizers of the Chicago Architecture Foundation's citywide Open House event are highlighting nine sites across Bridgeport and Back of the Yards, with a roster that includes houses of faith and food and places of artwork and adornments. Free. More info here.

Paranormal Psychic at Valentine Club: Paranormal expert, author and "spirit feeler" Edward Shanahan and his investigation team will lead an exploration through the dark halls of the Valentine Boys and Girls Club, 3400 S. Emerald Ave. from 7-11 p.m. Saturday. $15 admission; recommended for ages 18 and older.
