Silent Movie Night Sets Film to a Live Organ in Avondale Next Weekend

AVONDALE — Take a trip through the early 20th century in film as the Concordia Evangelical Lutheran Church hosts a night of silent films backed by a live church organ this weekend.

Some of the featured films include the 1910 Frankenstein movie, a Laurel and Hardy movie and a movie starring Charlie Chaplin.

The free, family-friendly event will be held Oct. 24 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at 2645 W. Belmont Ave. featuring Matthew Gerhard as the night’s organist.

Popcorn is included and donations will be gladly accepted.
