UNIVERSITY VILLAGE — Patrick Daley Thompson, candidate for 11th Ward alderman, will host a question-and-answer session for University Village residents Thursday night.

The neighborhood meeting will start at 7 p.m. at Moxee Kitchen & Madmouse Brewery, 724 W. Maxwell St.

Thompson, an attorney who currently serves as a Metropolitan Water Reclamation District commissioner, is running for the seat after Ald. James Balcer (11th) announced earlier this year that he would step down. Activist and author Maureen Sullivan and John Kozlar, a 25-year-old law student who runs the Canaryville Little League, have also announced they will seek the seat.

The 11th Ward map has been redrawn to include portions of Pilsen, Little Italy and University Village, in addition to encompassing all of Bridgeport, Canaryville and the Stockyards.

The ward map officially takes effect in spring 2015. The aldermanic election is Feb. 24.
