LINCOLN PARK — Facets is gearing up for its annual Boo! Bash celebration.

The costumed event will help kick off the 31st annual Chicago International Children's Film Festival at the cinema center.

One hundred percent of the proceeds support Facets' year-round educational programs as well as the children's film festival.

Paul Biasco says people are encouraged to dress up in costume for the event:

The event will feature films, games, face painting, tattooing and more on Oct. 19 at Park West, 322 W. Armitage Ave.

There will be a screening of some of the best short films from the festival as well as a DJ with dancing and an acrobatics show by CircEsteem.

This year's event is honoring LeVar Burton of Reading Rainbow, Roots and Star Trek: The Next Generation. Suzette Bulley is the honorary chair.

Kids are encouraged to dress in Halloween costumes so they can participate in the costume contest.

Tickets are $125 for adults and $50 per child.
