CHICAGO — If you are planning to watch the 45,000 racers in the 2014 Bank of America Chicago Marathon make their way through 26.2 miles' worth of the city's neighborhoods Sunday, this guide is for you.

The map below shows you key points along and near the route. Mile markers and significant race points are in red and white. Businesses holding specials and events for spectators in green. Other worthy highlights, including best places to watch the race from are in yellow.

One thing to remember: If you are planning to watch the racers at various points along the route, take the 'L.' The CTA is increasing service on Sunday. With all the street closures, there's really no better way to get around.

Blue and Red lines will be running more frequently than usual. Brown and Purple line service will start earlier than usual. Blue, Red, Brown, Orange and Green lines will be running longer trains than usual.
