Man, 20, Shot to Death In South Deering

CHICAGO — A man was fatally shot in South Deering late Friday.

Around 9:20 p.m., the man, 20, was walking with another man in the 10600 block of South Yates Avenue when someone walked up and fired numerous shots, striking him in the head and right arm, according to Officer Jose Estrada, a Chicago police spokesman.

The man was taken to Trinity Hospital, which is where he was pronounced dead, Estrada said.

He was identified by the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office as Tony McIntosh, of the 10600 block of South Yates Avenue.

No other information was immediately available.

Authorities said the incident may have been gang related, as the victim was a documented gang member. 

No one is in custody, and detectives are investigating.
