Girl, 16, Among Four Shot Friday

CHICAGO — At least four people were injured in citywide shootings Friday, including 16-year-old girl shot in the stomach.

The girl was shot in the 9500 block of South Princeton Avenue in Longwood Manor about 9:15 a.m. Friday, police said. She was shot in the right arm, buttocks and abdomen, and taken in serious condition to Advocate Christ Medical Center, police said.

Area South detectives are investigating.

Around 2:35, in the 4700 block of South Honore Street in Back of the Yards, a 35-year-old man was shot in the arm, police said. The man was in an alley when someone approached him and opened fire, police said. He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in good condition, and Area Central detectives are investigating.

At 3 p.m., an 18-year-old man was shot in the left leg while walking in the 2400 block of North Laramie Avenue in Belmont Cragin. He was taken to West Suburban Hospital in good condition, police said. Authorities believe the shooting is gang related, and said the victim is a documented gang member..

Around 5 p.m., a 17-year-old boy was shot in the chest in Riverdale. The boy was shot while in the 13100 block of South Langley Avenue, police said. He was taken to Christ, but police did not know his condition. Authorities said the shooting might be gang related, and said the victim is a documented gang member.
