BRIDGEPORT — Man and beast alike are invited to the front steps of Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church for a special blessing of animals.
The ceremony honors St. Francis of Assisi, lauded in Catholicism as the patron saint of animals and ecology.
The rain-or-shine event takes place at 3:30 p.m. Monday outside the church, 653 W. 37th St.
