Things You Can Do in Lincoln Park and Old Town Thursday

The Lionel will cross a quaint country bridge traveling past forest and canyon scenery before returning to the station. Rides are free to all visitors Thursday and all weekend long for members. You can also meet the mascot and enjoy train play sets Thursday. The first 50 passengers will receive a wooden Lionel train whistle.

Dancing with the Giordano's Stars at Park West, 322 W. Armitage Avenue, 6 p.m.

Giordano Dance Chicago host it's ninth-annual ballroom dancing competition styled after ABC's "Dancing with the Stars." The competition will benefit the dance company and educational programs at Park West. Competitors will compete to be crowned "Best Male Dancer" or "Best Female Dancer" in front of a group of celebrity judges. Tickets are between $100 and $200.

Ghost Tours at Lincoln Park Zoo, 2001 N. Clark St., 8 p.m.

Urula Bielski, of Chicago Hauntings will take you on a spooky tour of the 150-year-old zoo. You'll use electronic voice phenomena and Chicago's history to explain some of the things that go bump in the night at the zoo. Tickets are $28, $24 for zoo members. You must be at least 8 to enter. Beer and wine will be sold at the event.

Learn, Explore and Play at Lincoln Park Zoo, 2001 N. Clark St., 9:30-10:30 a.m.

The zoo has created an immersive playground for your young ones to connect with nature through playtime. The sensory-rich play place allows children to meet the animals, draw, build and make music on your own schedule. The nine-week session on Thursdays and Saturdays is $126, $108 for zoo members. The class is for children ages 2-3 accompanied by an adult.
