EDGEWATER — Summer might be over, but the neighborhood is still popping with weekend fun.
At 6 p.m. Friday, the Edgewater Fall Art Fair kicks off at the fair's beer garden, with music and, well, beer. Admission is free.
From 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, more than 100 artists will have their work on display on Granville Avenue between North Broadway and Kenmore Avenue. Suggested donation is $5.
On two stages, musical acts, including Miss Illinois 2014 Marisa Buchheit, will perform. A full schedule of acts can be found here. A talent show, fashion show and pet parade and costume contest will also be featured over the weekend.
At 8 a.m. Sunday morning, Edgewater's first 5K Run/Walk will begin at Granville and Kenmore avenues. Register here for the dog-friendly run for $45 a person and $135 for a family of four.
From each registration fee, $5 goes to benefit a neighborhood school of the runner's choosing.
