LINCOLN SQUARE — Just two days after opening, Baker Miller, Lincoln Square's newest bakery and millhouse, announced it would be cutting back on its hours of operation.

Because it can't keep up with demand.

Menu items — pies, cookies, loaves of bread, popovers and more — have been flying out the door with such speed, Baker Miller, 4610 N. Western Ave., has been cleaned out of pastries by mid-afternoon, even after adding a second round of bread-baking, well before the official 8 p.m. closing time.

Patty Wetli discusses the bakery's opening:

Owners Dave and Megan Miller announced Tuesday they would temporarily truncate business hours to catch their breath.

"It's true. We're struggling to keep up with demand," the pair posted to Baker Miller's Facebook page.

The shop will close for the time being at 3 p.m. while the Millers hire and train additional staff.

"Thank you so much for your incredibly overwhelming support!!" the couple wrote.
