CHICAGO — One person was killed and 10 people were wounded in shootings across the city since Monday morning, police said.

In the most recent shooting, a 17-year-old boy was shot in his jaw while standing on a corner in the 1500 block of East 62nd Street, said Officer Hector Alfaro, a police spokesman. He was taken to Comer Children's Hospital in good condition.

The gang-related shooting happened around 8:40 p.m., Alfaro said.

The most recent shooting, left a man dead and two others wounded in Ashburn.

Two people were shot in Austin around 8:35 p.m. The two were standing in the 300 block of South Lotus Avenue when someone in a red car opened fire. A 22-year-old man was shot in the arm and buttocks and taken to Mount Sinai in stable condition. An 18-year-old was struck in the stomach and taken to Loyola Hospital, where his condition stabilized, Alfaro said.

In other non-fatal shootings:

• Around 7:40 p.m., a 20-year-old man was shot in his arm while standing in the 2300 block of West 18th Place in the Heart of Chicago. The man was taken to Mount Sinai, where he was listed in stable condition, Alfaro said.

• Around 7:25 p.m., a 27-year-old man was shot while in his car near 94th Street and St. Lawrence Street in Roseland. The man was taken to St. Bernard's Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition after being shot in his left hand. No one is in custody for the shooting, which appears to be gang-related, Alfaro said.

• A 31-year-old man is good condition at Roseland Hospital after being shot in his left foot. The man was walking around 6:45 p.m. in the 300 block of West 105th Street in Fernwood when he heard shots and felt pain, Alfaro said.

• Around 3:23 p.m. Monday, two people were approached by someone on foot who opened fire in the 3800 block of West Arthington Street in Lawndale. A 28-year-old man was shot in his leg and a 20-year-old man was shot multiple times in his arm and chest. Both men were taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in good condition, Alfaro said.

Over the weekend, five people were killed and 30 were wounded.
