HYDE PARK — Assistant Principal Megan Thole has accepted a promotion to the top job at Ray Elementary School.
The local school council at the school at 5631 S. Kimbark Ave. voted on Thursday to offer the job to Thole after teachers voted unanimously for her as their pick.
Before joining Ray as assistant principal in June, Thole served as resident principal at Skinner North Classical School for a year after finishing her master’s in education from Harvard University.
She has eight years of teaching experience in English at elementary and middle schools in Chicago and Boston.
Thole will be officially introduced to the school as the local school council’s selection for principal at a 6:15 p.m. meeting Tuesday at the school.
