EDGEWATER — Chicago Public Schools and Lurie Children's Hospital will host a "Community Town Hall on Bullying Prevention" Tuesday night at Senn High School, 5900 N. Glenwood Ave.
The event will take place from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and will offer parents the opportunity to learn how to "identify potential problems and help their children" and provide other resources, a news release said.
Illinois Sen. Heather Steans, Ald. Harry Osterman (48th), Rep. Kelly Cassidy, Rep. Greg Harris will also take part in the forum.
"[We] are pleased to present a discussion we hope will empower parents to talk with their children about bullying, effectively address incidents as they arise and work with schools to create an atmosphere where everyone is respected and bullying is never tolerated," Osterman said in a news release.
Cassidy said "our goal is to provide parents with the resources to address problems as they come up."
Pizza will be served at 6 p.m. followed by a presentation and break-out sessions. Child-care will be available.
