Jarvis Square, Uncommon Ground to Host Oktoberfest Events This Weekend

EDGEWATER — Both Edgewater and Rogers Park are celebrating the coming autumn with Oktoberfest events Sunday.

From noon-6 p.m., an Oktoberfest bash will be thrown in Jarvis Square, with Towbar, R Public House and Taste Food and Wine participating in the 1500 block of West Jarvis Avenue. Beer from Spaten, Great Lakes Brewing Company and Hofbrau brew will be served.

German-style band Pieptone! will perform. A bag toss tournament will also be held ($40 per team).

From 2 p.m.-sundown, Uncommon Ground at 1401 W. Devon Ave. plans to barbecue and serve Greenstar Brewing's Oktoberfest Beer. The restaurant will be serving brats, sausages and vegan and vegetarian hot dogs.

Admission to each event is free, but food and beer are not.
