ROGERS PARK — From Hop Haus to Rollands to its next incarnation: Hard Water Bar and Grill.

The new owners of the restaurant at Clark and Howard streets plan to open the new late-night bar on Oct. 3, said co-owner Devon Kelly.

Kelly said the bar would be open until 4 a.m. Sundays-Fridays and until 5 a.m. on Saturdays in hopes of attracting Loyola and Northwestern students.

Kelly, who also manages an event-planning company, began hiring staff recently. She said she's rehired the Rollands' manager and the head bartender.

Executive Chef Christopher Osterman, who had worked at Downtown's Bar Forza, will also be joining the restaurant.

Neighbors can expect the Rollands' awning to be replaced with a solid red one at 7545 N. Clark St. The inside will also be painted a solid red color.

"We want to change up the look and start fresh," Kelly said.
