LINCOLN SQUARE — At the Friends of Amundsen back-to-school mixer, the big question is less likely to be "Is the cute guy from algebra here?" and more along the lines of "What's your freshman on-track percentage?"

The event, scheduled for 7:30-9:30 p.m. Thursday, is a decidedly grown-up affair, intended as a way for neighbors and parents to learn more about Amundsen High School — both its academic programs and community outreach efforts — in a casual setting.

Principal Anna Pavichevich will be on hand to field questions about the school, along with members of the Local School Council and Friends of Amundsen board.

Ald. Ameya Pawar (47th) and Ald. Pat O'Connor (40th) are also expected to attend and speak about Amundsen's relationship to neighborhood elementary schools.

No mixer would be complete without food and drinks — including adult beverages — which will be supplied by the evening's host, Dolce Casa Cafe, 4947 N. Damen Ave.
