BRIDGEPORT — The Bridgeport Art Center is inviting you to come out and meet the neighborhood's artists.
The monthly "Third Friday" gathering, where participants can explore the massive building's nooks and crannies and chat with its many artistic denizens, takes place 6-10 p.m. Friday. It's free.
Friday's event marks the launch of a new exhibit on the fourth-floor art gallery called "Transcending Boundaries," which organizers say is a "collection of challenging two- and three-dimensional pieces meant to explore the boundaries of traditional art media."
Friday is also the debut of Project Onward's "Fashion Form" exhibit, which shows off the collaborative works between the group's developmentally and intellectually disabled artists and fashion industry insiders, as well as the opening night of "Grit & Glamour," a joint exhibit by two artists, Sereno “Glitterman” Wilson and Michael “Culture Man” Bryant.
Also on Friday, woodworker Hal Link will conduct a free class in his basement studio.
Titled "Working with the Undead," the discussion will center on tree structures, how they're processed into lumber, identifying types of wood and other topics, event organizers said.
