UPTOWN — The Buena Park Neighbors Association on Sunday announced a slate of fall and winter events, including the unveiling of a collage of Buena Park residents, a popular Halloween event and a neighborhood-wide effort to keep the area "clean and green."

The Buena Park area sits at the southeast end of Uptown that borders Lakeview, and boasts one of the most active resident groups in the community.

In an email sent to members over the weekend, the group announced details of several events and posted the dates of important community meetings.

Here are some highlights:

Sept. 22: The association is holding a 7 p.m. general meeting at Joseph Brennemann Elementary School, 4251 N. Clarendon Rd., where artist Lowell Thompson will unveil his "Portrait of Buena Park," which combines scores of portraits of locals on a poster honoring the community. Group member Gene Tenner's photo book "Sweet Home Buena Park" will also be for sale at the meeting.

Oct. 11: Neighbors at this year's Fall Clean and Green have the chance to mingle and "clean up the neighborhood after a summer of outdoor activity" while doing some light gardening work in select places around the community, according to the association. The event kicks off at 11 a.m. at 4181 N. Clarendon Ave.

Oct. 31: Buena Park Pumpkins, a local tradition held every year, features a night of coordinated trick-or-treating where kids gather goodies from residents along North Kenmore Avenue in Buena Park from 6-8:30 p.m. Buena Park Circle park, 1049 W. Buena Ave., serves as "operation central" and is the starting point for the event, according to Buena Park Neighbors.

Also planned are a Buena Park Neighbors general meeting at 7 p.m.Nov. 17 at a yet-to-be determined location, and a pair of community policing meetings for CAPS Beat 1915 on Oct. 2 and Nov. 6 at 4040 N. Sheridan Road, at 7 p.m. and 5 p.m. respectively.
