Burnside Man Charged in 2013 Slaying in Woodlawn

CHICAGO — A South Side man is charged with murder and two counts of attempted murder after shooting and killing one man and wounding two others in 2013, police said.

Officers arrested Antonio James, 21, of the 9200 block of South Dobson Avenue, on Wednesday after identifying him as the man who shot and killed Ernest McMullen in the 6600 block of South Champlain Avenue in Woodlawn on July 3, 2013, police said.

McMullen was in a car with two other men when James opened fire, striking McMullen and two other men. A 29-year-old man and an 18-year-old man survived the shooting, police said.

James was expected to appear in bond court Thursday.
