CHICAGO — At least three people were wounded in shootings since Wednesday morning, police said.
The most recent shooting occurred around 10:50 p.m. in the 5500 block of West Jackson Boulevard in Austin. A 26-year-old man was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in stable condition after being shot in the lower left leg. No one was in custody, said Officer Ana Pacheco, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.
Around 7:35 p.m., a 35-year-old man was shot in the left knee in a possible drive-by in the 2500 block of West Wilcox Street in Near West Side. The man was taken to Stroger Hospital, where his condition stabilized, Pacheco said.
Earlier, an 18-year-old man was shot in East Garfield Park. Around 11:10 a.m., the man was approached by another man with a gun in the 3200 West Jackson Boulevard. When the 18-year-old began to run away from the man he heard shots and felt pain in his forearm. He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in good condition, Pacheco said.
