Police Searching for Motorcyclist in August Hit-and-Run

CHICAGO — Officers are searching for the driver of a motorcycle that was involved in a hit-and-run accident on the Near West Side in August.

On Aug. 23, the motorcyclist struck a man while he was walking in the 1600 block of West Augusta Boulevard around 2:05 a.m. The motorcyclist was heading north on Ashland Avenue before he hit the man and then continued north on Ashland after the accident, police said.

The motorcycle is a newer Honda CBR 1000RR and the driver was a white man in his early 30s. The motorcycle might have sustained damage to its front end such as broken headlights, a dented frame or cracked upper and lower fairings, police said.
