CHICAGO — Since Wednesday morning, a 38-year-old woman was fatally stabbed, a 34-year-old man was shot to death and four people were wounded by gunfire across the city.
The most recent shooting left a 24-year-old man in serious condition at Mount Sinai Hospital after being shot in the 4000 block of West Wilcox Street in West Garfield Park. The man was transported by a friend to the hospital after he was found shot multiple times, said Officer Janel Sedevic, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.
No one is in custody for the shooting, which occurred around 1:15 a.m. Thursday and appears to be gang-related, Sedevic said.
Around 10:40 p.m. Wednesday, a 23-year-old man was grazed in the shoulder in West Englewood.
Three hours earlier, a 37-year-old was shot in the 1300 block of South Kolin Avenue in North Lawndale. The man was shot in the arm and leg around 7:40 p.m. He was taken to Sinai in stable condition, Sedevic said.
Around 3:15 p.m., a 25-year-old man was shot when a man walked up to him in the 11200 block of South Eggleston Avenue in Roseland. He was shot in the stomach and taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in critical condition, Sedevic said.
No one is in custody for the shooting, Sedevic said.
