CHICAGO — The Chicago Department of Business Affairs and Consumer Protection is sponsoring social media training for business owners and entrepreneurs starting next month.

The free social media training runs from 9:30-11 a.m. in room 805 at City Hall every Friday in September and is designed to help entrepreneurs and business owners maximize social media strategies, said Maria Guerra Lapacek, commissioner of the city's business affairs department.

“We partnered with social media specialists from outside City Hall to offer attendees an opportunity to engage all of the social media opportunities available,” she said. “This is just one of the many ways we support small business owners and entrepreneurs.”

The boot camp will train on Facebook, Sept. 5; YouTube on Sept. 12; Instagram on Sept. 19; and Twitter on Sept. 26. For more information, call the business affairs department at 312-744-5291.
