SOUTH LOOP — T-shirts supporting Jackie Robinson West may be the hottest commodity in Chicago right now.

And those who have missed out so far now have another chance to snag the popular gold shirts, the Little League team announced Wednesday.

Dick's Sporting Goods, 1100 S. Canal St., received a shipment of another 500 "Great Lakes Champions" shirts Thursday, according to the Jackie Robinson West team's Facebook page.

The shirts, which cost $20, are sold exclusively at the Canal Street location. The store has seen long lines of fans trying to buy a shirt since Jackie Robinson West clinched a berth in the Little League World Series earlier this month.

The shirts have become almost a de facto uniform for the hundreds of fans who have attended the city's viewing parties to watch the Morgan Park-based team compete in the tournament.

The team's next game will be 6:30 p.m. Thursday on ESPN. If Jackie Robinson West wins, the team will move on to Saturday's U.S. Championship game.

Jackie Robinson West has won two straight games, including Tuesday night's 6-1 victory over Pearland, Texas, after losing in the second round of the tournament to Las Vegas last Sunday.

But the squad is still alive in the double-elimination tournament and is one of three American teams left in contention for the Little League World Series title as of Wednesday afternoon.
