LITTLE ITALY — The eighth annual Festa Italiana street fest kicks off this weekend with a meatball-eating contest, wine garden and a Frankie Valli tribute band.

The Four C Notes — the city's only Frankie Valli and the Four Season's tribute group — will headline at 7 p.m. Saturday evening on the fest's Rosebud stage. In In addition, there’s also a meatball-eating contest, bocce ball court and historic trolley tour through Little Italy.

Classic Italian eats will be available from Rosebud and Tuscany as well as not-so-classic Italian dishes from vendors like County BBQ and Big G's Pizza.

Children’s activities include a kids stage, with storytelling and marionette performances, and carnival rides.

Festa Italiana is on Taylor Street between Ashland and Racine avenues and has a suggested $5 donation. Fest Hours are 5-11 p.m. Thursday, 5-11 p.m. Friday, noon-11 p.m. Saturday and 2-10 p.m. Sunday. For a complete list of activities and times, visit chicagofestaitaliana.com.
