Free Appetizers, Giveaways at Division Ale House's 5-Year Party Thursday

WICKER PARK —  The Division Ale House is ringing in its fifth anniversary Thursday with complimentary appetizers during happy hour and $5 food specials on plates of the bar's bestselling snacks such as corned beef rolls and "Irish Nachos" topped with bacon and sour cream.

The free appetizers are planned for 6-7 p.m and the bar at 1942 W. Division St. will be serving Three Floyds beer during a "tap takeover" as well as offering giveaways such as neon beer signs, gift cards and more, according to a news release.

Ranging from $6-$8, the evening's featured beers from Munster, Ind., Three Floyds Brewing include Robert The Bruce Scottish Ale, Dreadnaught IPA, Pride & Joy Mild Ale, Alpha King Pale Ale and BackMasking Oatmeal Stout.

Gratzer, a limited edition Polish-style beer that is a collaborative effort between Three Floyds and Colorado’s New Belgium Brewing Co. (part of New Belgium’s Lips of Faith Series) will be on draft too.

The $5 menu items include:

Corned Beef Rolls                                                                                                                      
Fried spring rolls stuffed with corned beef, aged Swiss cheese and shredded green cabbage served with Thousand Islands dipping sauce.
 
Waffle Fried Chicken Skewers
Waffle-battered chicken with pure maple syrup, Guinness bacon compote and hand-cut fries.     
 
Soft Pretzel Trio                                                                                                                
Pretzels with cheese dip, spicy Guinness mustard and Guinness bacon compote.
 
Irish Nachos                                                                                                                            
Potato skins topped with Cheddar cheese, diced applewood-smoked bacon, pico de gallo and sour cream.

There is no cover charge for the party. Reservations are recommended by calling 773-384-6886. The Division Ale House is open from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m. Thursday and the kitchen will be open until midnight.
