COOK COUNTY CRIMINAL COURTHOUSE — Fingerprints left behind at the scene of a 2012 video game store robbery led cops to 20-year-old Donrell Brown, a man known to some by the name "Greedy," according to authorities.

Brown, of the 5900 block of West Superior Street, was arrested Tuesday and charged with armed robbery after prosecutors said he and two accomplices held up a Game Stop in February 2012.

Brown and another man charged into the Game Stop at 800 N. Kedzie Ave. on Feb. 6, 2012, wearing hoodies and scarves to cover their faces, prosecutors said.

Armed with a weapon described by the storekeeper as a Tec-9, the robbers took money and piled games and game consoles near the back door, where a third accomplice grabbed them.

The three thieves disappeared and might have gotten away with the robbery, but a fingerprint left at the Game Stop led police to Brown, according to prosecutors.

Brown, whose also goes by "Greedy" according to a police report, is charged with armed robbery. A Cook County judge ordered him held on $275,000 bail Wednesday during a brief court appearance.

Prosecutors did not identify his accomplices or indicate if charges are pending against anyone else in the case.
