UPTOWN — A neighborhood group, Friends of the 46th Ward Schools, is partnering with Ald. James Cappleman (46th) for a back-to-school supply drive.

Cappleman and the group have been asking neighbors to drop off supplies at the 46th Ward office, 4544 N. Broadway, during office hours, or at the nearby Hair Cuttery, 4434 N. Broadway, during its business hours.

The supplies donated "will be given directly to the principals and teachers of the schools in our ward," Cappleman said in an email to constituents.

Anybody looking to donate gift cards can email Friends of the 46th Ward Schools at friends46thwardschools@gmail.com — and cash can be donated via Paypal.

People looking to pitch in can also shop from an online wish list of supplies and have the items delivered directly to Cappleman's office.

The drive ends Sept. 12.
