Around 1 a.m. Sunday in the 6300 block of South Ashland Avenue in West Englewood, a 20-year-old man was walking down the street when a man exited a light-colored vehicle and opened fire, striking the victim in the leg. He was taken to Holy Cross Hospital in good condition, said Greer.

A 28-year-old man was shot in the knee while standing in the 7100 block of South Morgan Street in Englewood about 12:30 a.m. Two men wearing hoodies approached the man as he was walking and opened fire. He was taken to Stroger Hospital in stable condition, Greer said.

A fight at a barbecue in the 500 block of East 42nd Street led to a man being shot in the leg about 9:30 Saturday night. Police said two men, including the 41-year-old victim, shot at a woman who had been fighting at the event. Police did not know who shot the man; the woman was not injured in the shooting. The man walked to Provident Hospital, police said.

A 44-year-old man was also arrested on the scene. Both men are in custody for the shooting, Greer said.

On Saturday afternoon at about 3:10 p.m., a 23-year-old man was shot by an unknown man while walking down the street in the 5700 block of South Shields Avenue in Englewood.
