CHICAGO — Four people are dead and 24 were wounded in shootings over the weekend, including two people fatally shot overnight and a man wounded in South Shore Sunday night.

The most recent homicide happened around 9 p.m. when a 17-year-old boy was shot and killed in Morgan Park.

About 1½ hours earlier, a 33-year-old man was also fatally shot in West Garfield Park at 7:23 p.m.

The most recent non-fatal shooting happened around 1 a.m. in the 7700 block of South Shore Drive in South Shore after a 43-year-old man got into an argument with another man.

After the argument, the 43-year-old heard a knock at the door and when he opened it the man from the argument and another man rushed in and began fighting with him. One of the men then fled the house and a woman joined the fight, said Officer Amina Greer, a police spokeswoman.

Another man then entered the home and shot the 43-year-old man after he had beaten the man and woman with a baseball bat. The attacker and the woman were transported to South Shore Hospital in an unknown condition. They are in police custody, Greer said.

The 43-year-old man is in stable condition at Northwestern Hospital after being shot in his back, Greer said.

Earlier Sunday, three men were shot in South Chicago, while a man was killed and another wounded in a shooting near a nightclub.

Saturday, a 16-year-old boy was killed and 16 others were wounded in shootings.

Friday, a 16-year-old girl was shot in Oakland and a man was stabbed to death in Humboldt Park.
