LOGAN SQUARE — Liberty Bank, a neighborhood institution since 1898, is sponsoring an extensive collection of Logan Square historical photos now on display at Comfort Station.

Picturing Logan Square: An Exhibition of Rare Images” will showcase around 150 photos from Saturday through the end of August at Comfort Station, 2579 N. Milwaukee Ave. An opening reception is scheduled for 3-6 p.m. Sunday.

Andrew Schneider, the Logan Square Preservation president, and co-curator David Keel collected the photos over the course of a decade, mostly through help from long-time neighborhood residents with access to family photos and an online community of photo postcard collectors.

The 11-by-14-inch, high-resolution black-and-white images depict a neighborhood from its rural beginnings in the 1800s through modern times.

A self-guided walking tour with an accompanying map and 40-page photobook will be available at the exhibit from noon to 3 p.m. every Sunday at Comfort Station.
