CHICAGO — Nine people were wounded in shootings since Wednesday evening on city's South and Northwest sides.

The latest incident occurred in the 11100 block of South Edbrooke Avenue in Roseland about 1:10 a.m. Thursday, said Officer Jose Estrada, a police spokesman.

After being shot in his buttocks while standing on the sidewalk, an 18-year-old man was taken to Roseland Community Hospital before being transferred to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn.

In other shootings:

• In South Chicago, a 19-year-old man was shot in his leg at 11:50 p.m. Wednesday in the 8400 block of South Luella Avenue, Estrada said. The man was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where he was listed in good condition.

• In Montclare on the Northwest Side, a 24-year-old man was shot in his stomach, back and arm while in the 2900 block of North Newcastle Avenue about 11:40 p.m., Estrada said.

The man was able to take himself to Presence Resurrection Medical Center before he was transferred to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in stable condition.

The man is not being cooperative with police and wouldn't say who might have shot him, Estrada said.

• Two people were shot about 9:20 p.m. while they were outside in the 8500 block of South Exchange Avenue in South Chicago, Estrada said.

A man, 24, was taken to Advocate Trinity Hospital where he was listed in stable condition. A woman, 18, is in stable condition at Northwestern after being shot in her hip.

They were shot by someone inside a light-colored car.

• In Greater Grand Crossing, a 15-year-old boy and a 20-year-old man were shot in a drive-by in the 7200 block of South Dobson Avenue about 7:45 p.m., Estrada said.

The boy was shot in his buttocks and taken to Comer Children's Hospital where he was in stable condition. After being shot in his groin and leg, the man is in stable condition at Northwestern.

• Two men, ages 20 and 22, were shot at 6:45 p.m. near 101st Street and Union Avenue in Washington Heights, Estrada said.

The younger man was grazed in his head by a bullet and was also hit by bullet fragments in his chest and upper arm. The older man was grazed in his left arm. Both refused medical treatment.

Both were unwilling to cooperate, Estrada said, though it is believed they were shot from a passing two-door hatchback.
