MCKINLEY PARK — Admirers of flora, fauna and food are invited to some of the area's best public and private gardens.
Hosted by the McKinley Park Community Garden, the Garden Walk takes place 1-4 p.m. Aug. 9. The event is rain-or-shine and completely free.
The self-guided tour begins at the group's community garden in the 1900 block of West Pershing Road, where participants can grab a map and venture off into the neighborhood, where several gardeners will open their gardens for special tours.
The organizers ask guests to register online in advance of the event.
