Friday

Jimmy Sarr Band at Joe's on Weed Street, 940 W. Weed St., 7 p.m.

The accomplished singer and songwriter has been navigating the local and national scene for several years. Being born into a family of bluegrass musicians, Jimmy Sarr returned to his roots in 2012 and formed a high-energy country band for the Midwest. Head to Joe's rooftop for a nice view and some good ol' country music. There is no cover for the concert.

TheWhoevers at Lincoln Hall, 2424 N. Lincoln Ave., 9 p.m.

Celebrate the record release of the Chicago based hip-hop group of MCs J. Arthur and DotKom. The duo is known for catchy lyrics, high-energy stage presence and melodic songs. The Palm Squares, DJ RTC and Add-2 will also perform at the 18-and-over concert. Tickets are $8 in advance or $10 at the door.

Night Out with Jazz at Seward Park, 375 W. Elm St., 6-9 p.m.

The annual Jazz series features local jazz artists who have become household names. The series is sponsored by Ald. Walter Burnett (27th). There is no fee for the show, which is intended for an audience of all ages.

Saturday

Green City Market, 1750 N. Clark St., 7 a.m.-1 p.m.

Check out the 10 new vendors at the outdoor market with more than 60 vendors. The market will be open from 7 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesdays and Saturdays through Oct. 25.

Taste of Lincoln Avenue between Fullerton and Wrightwood avenues, noon-10 p.m.

Summer just ain't the same without this two-day festival spanning several blocks and featuring music from more than 25 acts on three stages, a kids carnival, the Lill Street Craft Fair and, last but not least, food and drink. This year's musical performers include the Gin Blossoms, Rusted Root, Mr. Blotto, the Lovehammers, Duke Tumatoe, Lil' Ed, Smiley Tillmon and Joanna Connor. Proceeds from the event benefit the Wrightwood Neighbors Association, which makes grants to charitable and educational organizations serving the community.

In the Garden of Beerdom at the Chicago History Museum, 1601 N. Clark St., 1-4 p.m.

Learn why Chicago is called the City in a Garden with this trolley tour of the City's best beer gardens. Also learn the roots of the German Biergarten tradition. The tour is $40, $30 for museum members.
