Get Your Jam On Tuesday With Free Events at Independence and Hamlin Parks

IRVING PARK — It would cost a pretty penny, not to mention the use of a time machine, to catch The Beatles, AC/DC, Green Day, Tom Petty and the Beastie Boys together in concert.

McFeenin might be the next best thing: a cover band that plays a wide range of classic rock tunes as well as original songs.

Even better, they'll be performing for free at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Independence Park, 3945 N. Springfield Ave. Pack a picnic, bring along a blanket or lawn chair and enjoy music under the stars.

If you're in the mood for something slightly more interactive, check out Wheel Jam at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Hamlin Park, 3035 N. Hoyne St.

Members of Cirques Experience will be performing acrobatic feats using a gym wheel — and members of the public are invited to give it a try.
